iPhone 5s and 5c: Overview and Accessory Compatibility

The iPhone 5 will no longer be Apple Inc’s flagship smart phone, due to the impending release of the two new models later this month, the 5s and 5c along with the company’s new mobile operating system, the iOS 7. The announcement of the two models has been met positively by most pundits and are completely astounded by Apple’s move to produce cheaper models – believe it or not, you can get the 5c for as low as $79.

Both of the new models are different in a few, but telling aspects. One is that the 5s is armed with the new A7 quad-core CPU, which is guaranteed to run a lot faster than its predecessors while the 5c is equipped with the triple core A6 CPU, which was last seen in the iPhone 5. Another telling difference is that the new models are priced pretty far apart from each other and are made of pretty different materials and casings. The 5s will be sold in aluminum cases with three themes: black slate, silver white and gold (who would not want to have a golden smart phone resting in their palms?). The 5c meanwhile is available in a lot of color themes, albeit the shells are made of tough polycarbonate plastic that came with an internal steel frame, effectively cutting manufacturing costs.

Samsung seemed to follow the footsteps of Apple in terms of providing high tech and jump packed featured mobile phones. Last year, 29 August 2012, Samsung Galaxy Note II was launched with an aim to further provide users with satisfaction through a multi-functioning gadget. It appeals to students, artists, business professionals and users who want it have larger screens for their mobile phones. Though some people don’t really mind the S Pen, extra large size while being turned off with $299 premium fee, Samsung Galaxy Note II is still one of the most favored phones under Galaxy series.

In terms of style and design, Note II resembles with Galaxy S3 however, it looks sleek and slim despite its girth. Men and women are turned on with its sleek and professional look. They also don’t have problems with it when kept in a bag or purse. However, it is hard to use the phone using only one hand, thus eliminating efficiency for one-handed people only. Some people would also say that it’s too big to carry but actually you will just get used to it. The good thing is the quality of the materials used; some people using it claim that it doesn’t break even if you accidentally sat on it.

Galaxy Note II

The, 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED Screen display and a quad core, and of course, it runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Samsung Galaxy Note II is a worthy investment. Though it looks bigger than other mobile phones, if you keep your eye on it and compare it with iPhone 5, you can actually see that it’s a lot smaller. Like the Samsung Galaxy S4, the design of the Note II is slim and sleek, therefore, you can ask where the adjustment. You got it right, in its battery. A 3100 mAh can provide 35 hours talk time. It also boasts an 8 megapixel LED camera. It can also host a microSd card of up to 64 GB storage capacity.

Galaxy Note II is impressive in terms of screen with deep blacks and vibrant colours. You can also see helpful hardware ports and buttons. The front facing camera is placed above with a proximity and light sensor. While the power button is on the right side, the volume rocker is on the left, the Micro USB port is located in the bottom, the top is for a 3.5mm headset jack.

Samsung Galaxy S4: A Short Overview

SAMSUNG GALAXY S4

In the last entry, we talked about the accessories of Samsung's latest smart phone, the Galaxy S4. Today, we won't be going far from the talked about topic since we'll be talking about the phone itself. I mean, how can we fully utilize the phone's use without knowing what's inside its sleek shell and touchscreen?

First off, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is a great successor to the successful and groundbreaking Galaxy S3. It was released April 26 2013, ganrnering over  10 million sales in 27 days, making it the fastest selling Samsung smart phone and fastest Android device in history.

All right, so now we know a little about the smart phone. Let's proceed to its specifications. The  Galaxy S4 has dimensions measuring 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm and weighs a light 130 grams, a tad smaller and lighter than its predecessor. However, if you have the two phones in hand, compare their  screens. Both sport a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, however, the S4 possesses a superior 1080x1920 pixels compared to the S3's 720 x 1280. Be prepared, the screen has a whopping 441 pixels per inch, meaning that the quality of the display is very, very high. The screen is covered by sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the most preferred by smart phone manufacturers. What makes it unique however, is it's ability to let its user use the touchscreen with gloves on. This is absent in other smart phones and is incredibly useful especially during the cold winter season. The phone comes in two variants, one with the newly-released Exynos 5 OCTA-CORE processor and the quad-core Snapdragon 600 chip. The phone comes with 16GB/32GB/64GB internal memory with an expendable up to 64GB because of a microSD card slot. Running it is Android's v.4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
